Power Failure Detector

The green light indicates the status of the AC outlet it monitors. It will stay ON when the power supply is normal and turn OFF if there is a power outage, regardless of whether the device is turned on or not.

If the red light re-illuminates a few seconds after you click “Save and Restart”, it indicates that the device may not have successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network. As a result, the device is not registered with the server, and no email or text notifications will be sent. Please download the setup failure troubleshooting guide, which may help you resolve the issue by following the steps provided.

The internal backup battery is not rechargeable; however, it is designed for longevity. In the event of a power outage, the device will chirp for up to 30 seconds per incident if the buzzer feature was activated during setup. After alerting you to the power loss, the device immediately enters sleep mode to preserve battery life. Assuming a stable Wi-Fi connection that doesn’t require repeated attempts to reconnect, the battery should last for several years under normal conditions.

The required battery type is CR2. To replace the battery, please refer to the instructions in Section 5 on page 8 of the user manual.

When you replace the battery, there’s no need to redo the setup process. Simply power off the device, replace the battery, and power it back on. All your settings, including email addresses and phone numbers, are stored locally on the device and will remain unchanged.
